    Option 1: As in Assignment #1, after carefully reading the selections, write an essay in which you identify and discuss the "romantic" aspects of the works of one of the authors above. Use the author's works to illustrate and support your assertions.  See the notes below for more information pertaining to this assignment.
    Option 2: After carefully reading the selections, write an essay in which you identify and discuss, and illustrate through careful comparison, the shifting values, attitudes, perspectives, etc. conveyed by Wordsworth's and Coleridge's works and the "romantic revivalists" from this reading assignment. Use the author's works to illustrate and support your assertions.  See the notes below for more information pertaining to this assignment.

    This essay should be a minimum of 750 words in length and must incorporate support from three or more works by any one of the selected authors and a minimum of three secondary sources.  Remember to define any literary terms used, including "Romanticism."  Write your rough draft and proofread carefully!  The manuscript and bibliography must be MLA formatted.
    Draft a "Works Cited" page according to the MLA guidelines found on the "MLA Works Cited Formatting Page".
    I will be checking your essay to see that you have become sufficiently familiar with the assigned literary period, authors, and works.  Your writing should demonstrate your understanding, so be sure to check the final draft of your essay for grammar/mechanics and formatting errors prior to submitting it for evaluation. See the "MLA Document Formatting Page" for information on proper formatting.
    Give your essay an original title. Process the essay using Microsoft Word. Save the file as yourlastnameA2.doc, and follow the instructions under "Submit Assignment" at the bottom of this page. NOTE: essays must be submitted via the correct WebCT assignment page. Essays submitted any other way will not be received or graded.
